Wow! We had a storm like that up North and they called it "straight line winds" or something? The winds sheared the tops of trees off ALL over the city and we were without power for 4 days.
I'm so glad you guys are o.k. and that nothing flew through all those windows.
We've got a new (electric)chainsaw if you need me to bring it over...and I think you can save your tree with a few well placed stakes and rope.
Jeebus! There's NO WAY that was 60 mph winds like the warning said. That's way more destructive!
rixblix...thanks for offering your new chainsaw! I told Mr W last night that I think it's about time we invest in one of our own. It's on the list of things to get this weekend. I didn't get a pic, but the neighbor had the top of one of his pine trees sheared off. I feel we and everyone else was very fortunate not to have more damage than we did...oh, and tonight we are going to attempt to rope and secure the pear tree (before the Bears game):)
cjay...no one saw a tornado so I guess that's why they aren't saying it was one. But tell me, how in the heck are you supposed to spot one at 4:00 in the morning unless you got out your nightvision glasses!
