Slippery When Wet

The grass with the morning dew...

is slippery when wet.

Trying to mow the grass with the morning dew...

is slippery when wet.

Mowing the grass with the the friggin' morning dew up hill...

is slippery when wet.

Going down hill mowing the grass with the ever lasting morning dew...

is slippery when wet.

Wearing rubber shoes and your feet are wet not only from the morning dew, but from sweating...

are slippery when wet.

If you don't wear gloves while mowing, and your hands start sweating, you can't hold on to the handle because it is...

slippery when wet.

Stepping in dog chit that is hidden under the grass covered with the morning dew...

is slippery when wet.

Walking up hill wearing rubber shoes, pushing the mower with the wet clumps of grass clippings that the mower couldn't mulch because the grass was too long and it was wet beyond your imagination from the morning dew...

is slippery when wet~

Getting my skirt caught in the chain link fence, and trying to unhook it as so that I don't have to walk across the yard nekkid from the waist down is probably more funnier to my neighbors then me navigating around the yard that is...

Slippery when wet!

I thought it was cool :)

The other day we noticed some buzzing going on around the window in the kitchen. Mr Wonderful looked out, and thought they were honey bees so he called the local bee keeper to come out and capture the hive and take it to a safe place.

Mean while, I took a good gander at it and exclaimed that those weren't honey bees...they're friggin' wasps! On the phone to the bee keeper to cancel the appointment and find some brave soul that will come out and get rid of this hive...

I am not afraid of wasps, and thought that if you leave them alone, they will in turn leave you alone. I couldn't resist walking past them yesterday and prove that I was right, and at the same time hoping they weren't going to attack me and prove me wrong.

They are very aggressive right now, but I think it's only because they are eager to build their hive and set up housekeeping. Little do they know their home sweet home will be exterminated today...Good bye wasp family!

Of course I had to get a picture of it, and NO I didn't have the 200mm zoom lens to get up this close and personal...I am brave!

And while I was outside this morning being the amateur photographer a plane went over head and I snapped a picture of it...

Well, I thought it was cool...

NOT!

Fantastic time!

As you probably already know, president Bush was in town yesterday for a fundraiser for Aaron Schock for a whopping $500.00 a plate luncheon which lasted a little over an hour. Big deal...Not my cup of tea~

Instead I went with a group of people last night for the Colleen Callahan fish fry fundraiser. Down to earth, real people, a lot of fun, great food and entertainment.

I had the pleasure of meeting so many people besides the lovely Colleen Callahan... It was just like one big happy family!

Jehan Gordon you rawk girl! It was so nice spending time with you and the pictures came out fabulous! I'm going to stop in and get my T-shirt!

Not only did I see some old familiar faces but got to meet some new friends as well~

I ate 'em all

I have picked a total of eight tomatoes out of my garden this week so far.

There is nothing like the taste of a home grown, big red juicy tomato straight out of the garden...I could live on them for the rest of the summer!

The best thing about tomatoes is that you can eat them, and not feel guilty. Unless you are like me and have to have them swimming in a bowl of Ranch Dressing, and I am not talking low cal either...

Well, you are probably wondering where the pictures are of my beefsteak 'matoes...There isn't any...I had to choose whether to take pictures or eat them...

First tomatoes of the season???

I ate 'em all!

Do NOT walk barefoot!

I have been seeing a lot of deer out in back lately probably because they love grazing on the over grown clover...They come early in the morning, mid afternoon, and evening.
So, it's not unusual to walk past the window, and see a little Bambi chowing down on some mighty tasty weeds~
Which brings to mind the next question, and please do not read out loud because I am about to raise the percentage of my Cuss O'Meter from zero to who knows what percent...

Does a deer shit in the woods?Apparently NOT! They go right in our backyard!

DO NOT WALK BAREFOOT!

Peter Piper would be so proud of my peppers

He picked a peck of pickled peppers...How in the world do you grow pickled peppers? I have never eaten peppers that are pickled, and not sure if they were pickled before they were picked or pickled after.

I picked peppers like Peter Piper, but I didn't pick a peck. My peppers aren't pickled or am I thinking of pickling them. I just picked them because they were ready to be pecked by pests.
I am now pondering if Peter Piper picked a peck of pickles, and called them peppers, but you can't pick a pickle or at least one that has been pickled~
Here are some peppers that I picked...
Not pickled

What do you think...Peter Piper would be so proud of my peppers?

I Love to Wine

Summer is here and it's time to do a little wine because nothing tastes better than having something nice and cold and refreshing in the afternoon than one of these flavorful tasty concoctions of flavored apple wine. And well, for $1.99 a bottle, you can't beat the price of a cheap hangover either.

I am normally strictly a beer drinker, but thanks to East Bluff Barbie she convinced me to try the watermelon flavor.

What's Shaking can testify that the Strawberry Margarita is most delicious, and it's a good thing I bought two bottles of that because one bottle disappeared!

The best part about this fine wine is that you don't need a cork screw, it doesn't require being laid down on it's side in a wine cellar, you don't need to sniff the screw off top, you can serve it in a plastic wine glass, and it doesn't matter what temperature it's served at as long as it's cold!

90 degree temperature, hot and humid...
I Love to Wine

Look at my crack!

The other day I went out into the sun room to open up the new bamboo curtains that we just hung, and I saw something strange and unusual...

Being the touchy person that I am I had to put my finger on the glass to see it there was a streak. The line was half way across the glass and as soon as I moved the window the line traveled all the way across...

What it the world happened here? Notice I didn't say HELL because I like to keep my curse meter down...

LOOK AT MY CRACK!
and please no HFA comments that it's a big one :)

They Grew Overnight!

I swear...I was out in the garden yesterday, and there were just a couple small zucchini's not bigger than my finger. I thought for sure in a couple of weeks they would be ready for picking.

Apparently I don't know anything about the rapid growth of a squash because this morning when I went out to water the garden these two beauties were half the size of my forearm and ready for picking! Mmmm...zucchini!

They grew overnight!

Dem Bones

We decided to try something different and give the big boys something different to chew on besides the toys that we found to have a life expectancy of just a matter of minutes. We thought that something big, yummy, and messy would do the trick. After all who doesn't want a good thing to last a long time?

Now we really need the carpet cleaned
but, oh the boys luv "Dem Bones"

Dirty Laundry

This weekend while out doing some grocery shopping one important thing on my list was laundry detergent. Normally it's a no-brainer picking out which one out of the numerous different brands because I am a Tide user. Always have been ever since I can remember. I looked at the price of a bottle of Tide, and just about choked. What is it with the price of laundry detergent? Twenty bucks a gallon? That's outrageous!

So, being the conservative shopper that I am I start looking at the price of other detergents. Unless I wanted to go with some generic brand, and not know how clean my clothes were going to be I was going to be paying the big bucks.

Then this caught my eye...I looked at the price, and it was somewhere around $16.00 which I thought wasn't too bad. The the design of the bottle made me stop and stare at it like...how the heck does this work? It kind of looks like fun that you can shoot from one end or depending on your mood just pour it. So, into the cart it went, and I thought I would get home and read the directions how this new fangle contraption works...
Today is laundry day, and I have to take time to read the directions on the bottle. You have to remove the one cap, and try to get your fingers situated around the little doodad and press the button to make the soap flow while grasping the handle with your other hand. Way too much work for me, and I wasted at least 5 loads after spilling it all over the washer. So much for the 72 loads of laundry it claims it will do~

Little did I know I picked up the joyful expressions scent "Apple Mango Tango." Reading on, it says that it will keep your laundry smelling fresh for weeks...How can this be? I wash every week! Am I going to open up the hamper, and instead of smelling stinky sweaty clothes they'll still be fragrant? And what does Tango smell like? I don't think I have ever smelled a Tango. Unless it's what you smell like after dancing...

Then I couldn't help but wonder...if I use bleach and fabric softener is it going to smell like Apple Mango Tango Clorox Snuggle?

This is way too much thinking for me about my dirty laundry...

Nice Pair

About a month ago I ordered 12 pairs of bamboo curtains for the sun room, and this weekend we were on a mission to find the perfect rods that would compliment them. Little did I know, and with my lack of decorating skills...all I needed was some that matched the brushed bronze grommets. I didn't want anything too fancy because as you can see, this is not a formal room...

While out on our curtain rod shopping spree I saw these beauties, and who can't resist buying a new pair of shoes! For some reason it always makes shopping so much more enjoyable. Yeah, they are so me!
Last night we had some severe thunderstorms so this morning I went out looking to see if there was any damage to my garden. Luckily there wasn't, but look at this~

Oh, Nice Pear!

Cable vs Satellite

For some time we have been hearing chirping noises coming from inside the satellite dish in back. I didn't think the opening could be large enough for a bird to make a nest in but when I saw this I guess they will nest in just about anyplace...

Now the question is: What kind of bird is this?
I already know it prefers Satellite~

Flam Fest

This past weekend we celebrated Mr. Wonderfulness's birthday, and it turned out to not be just an ordinary small get together, but appropriately named "Flam Fest". It was so much fun, it lasted two days! To protect the innocent, I am not going to post any pictures. You'll just have to imagine the fun yourself.

The weather was great although a storm rolled through here in the afternoon, but who cares when the party is indoors!

I want to take this time to thank everyone for the wonderful time, and helping us not only celebrate Mr. W's special day, but appearing at the first annual...
