So, being the conservative shopper that I am I start looking at the price of other detergents. Unless I wanted to go with some generic brand, and not know how clean my clothes were going to be I was going to be paying the big bucks.
Then this caught my eye...I looked at the price, and it was somewhere around $16.00 which I thought wasn't too bad. The the design of the bottle made me stop and stare at it like...how the heck does this work? It kind of looks like fun that you can shoot from one end or depending on your mood just pour it. So, into the cart it went, and I thought I would get home and read the directions how this new fangle contraption works...
Today is laundry day, and I have to take time to read the directions on the bottle. You have to remove the one cap, and try to get your fingers situated around the little doodad and press the button to make the soap flow while grasping the handle with your other hand. Way too much work for me, and I wasted at least 5 loads after spilling it all over the washer. So much for the 72 loads of laundry it claims it will do~ Little did I know I picked up the joyful expressions scent "Apple Mango Tango." Reading on, it says that it will keep your laundry smelling fresh for weeks...How can this be? I wash every week! Am I going to open up the hamper, and instead of smelling stinky sweaty clothes they'll still be fragrant? And what does Tango smell like? I don't think I have ever smelled a Tango. Unless it's what you smell like after dancing...
Then I couldn't help but wonder...if I use bleach and fabric softener is it going to smell like Apple Mango Tango Clorox Snuggle?
This is way too much thinking for me about my dirty laundry...

I'm an ALL girl myself. Just graduated from Free & Clear to experimenting with scents, and some just flat out scare me... Apple Mango Tango would probably fall in that category. And in my current state would probably cause me to... (I will not type that to spare your other readers). ANd I get very caught up in the various scents of detergent and dryer sheet and how they might combine. My SIL has the best smelling combination, though. Their clothes always smell like heaven :)
Those bottle types can be handy if you set the spout on a shelf above and can just press and fill. But I find the nozzle tends to leak and detergent drip is a real pain to get up!
But if your clothes smell fresh for weeks, let me know... that would certainly be worth trying a switch :)
becs...I like my clothes smelling good, but especially my blankets, sheets, and pillow cases. Would I not wash them for weeks because they smelled good? NO. It does make the house smell good. Now if only that lasted for weeks!
Get the combination from your SIL and share it. :)
She uses Tide with a touch of Downy April Fresh for detergent and Downy April Fresh dryer sheets. She says its the only thing that works.
becs...thanks, I'm going to try that combination. The apple mango tango did not live up to it's advertisment. Matter of fact I couldn't even tell the difference on the sheets and blankets. Maybe I needed to get the apple mango tango fabric softner and dryer sheets!
