It's not for ME!

I get a lot of catalogs in the mail...so many that I don't even look at all of them. There are certain ones I will glance at, but basically they have the same stuff in them, and usually not my taste at all. I'm not into roosters, apples or country decor, frilly curtains with matching bedspreads, sconces, oversize vases, kitchen gadgets or what's up with those stretchy slipcovers for your sofa that come in all sorts of gaudy colors?

And don't you just love it when you get one of those catalogs with the big red sticker slapped on the front with the warning:

Now that's going to make me pick it up and thumb through the pages looking for something that I don't want or need just so I keep getting this junk mail!

And then underneath that BIG RED sticker is this one:

So, now of course I HAVE to check out these goods because I can get a line of credit up to $1,000.00 and only pay $20.00 a month with an annual percentage rate of 21%! How can I pass up this incredible deal?

Then my bubble bursts when I look at the little paper credit card with the pre-approved code on it and it has the previous homeowners name on it!

IT'S NOT FOR ME!

Shoe were always on my mind...

No, it's not a typo...I was thinking of the song though "You Were Always On My Mind" and well... "You" rhymes with "Shoe".

Who comes to a pool wearing BOOTS? Okay, I know, it's the dead of winter but it got me to thinking. People change into their suits and have nothing to wear on their feet after getting out of the water.

Or even if they are just sitting around, they just get that urge to slip off that BOOT and air out their feet! Sorry about the blurred photo....I was laughing so hard!
So, I saw these cute flip flops and thought, I could buy a gross of them, and keep them handy for guests who want to kick off their shoes and sit around. They are made of a Styrofoam like material so they are reusable or disposable. Throw them in your purse, bag or glove compartment, and have them handy for those pedicure days at the spa! The possibilities are endless with these cute flipppies!
Don't worry, I'm still searching for the perfect sandal for you guys...cuz

Shoes are always on my mind!

Where's Waldo?

Some years ago I bought these books for my son. They provided hours of entertainment for the both of us looking for Waldo. Sometimes we were successful in finding him, other times I thought I was going to go blind!
Then the books were banned because someone said there were bare breasts in one of the books. I never found them but am sure my son probably did! Then I got into collecting Waldo things...I have every book, puzzle, game, and even wrapping paper, gummies and of course who wouldn't have this in their collection? The Waldo doll!

Where's Waldo? He's right here in my house!

I'm in Shock!

The Pool Man was here last week to do some repairs on our 20,000 gallon bathtub after Mr. Wonderful left a window open in the mechanical room, and the pipes FROZE and BUSTED!

After the new plumbing was installed Pool Man says...I'm going to add this SHOCK to the pool, and the water will look like glass! It will just sparkle! Me, thinking to myself, the water already looks like glass and sparkles but, yeah go ahead Pool Man...you know best!

It looked like MILK after he was done, but he reassured me that it would clear up in a matter of time....

Today, one week later...Pool Man makes another trip out to do a water test, and adds more chemicals, and this is what the pool looks like now! MILK! Did he shock the pool? or me?
I'm in SHOCK the way it looks!

It's tax time...are you ready to bake?

As you know it's that time of year again when everybody is getting ready to do their taxes! I came across this recipe, and thought I would share it with you. If you are preparing your taxes, you have an accountant in the house, or you know one...this is the perfect recipe to take the stress out of tax time:

Chocolate Layer Cake 1040

Line 1.
Butter, a minimum of half a pound (8 oz.), but not to exceed 1 (one) pound. (See line 4.)

Line 2.
Sugar, light brown or white, unless you or your spouse had a financial account in a foreign country in 1990, in which case dark brown sugar must be used. Do not substitute molasses or honey. Use 1 (one) cup and adjust to taste.

Line 3.
Eggs, six or half a dozen, whichever is greater.

Line 4.
Semisweet chocolate, 6 oz. Nonfarm families may choose the optional method of using cocoa powder. If you elect the Cocoa Method, add ½ oz. (One Tablespoon) of butter to each 3 tablespoons of cocoa. Multiply by .9897 per ounce of substitution. For adjustments to sugar, see pg. 29. Add total of additional butter to Line 1 (above). Sugar adjustments should be reflected in final total of Line 2. For additional details on cocoa conversion, see Form 551.

Line 5a.
Flour, white. If you were a federal, state or local government employee, you may be eligible for an excess flour tax credit. Measure 2 cups, sifting is optional.

Line 5b.
Flour, whole wheat, 1 2/3 cups.

Line 5c.
Alternative mixture: 1 cup white flour plus ¾ cup whole wheat flour.

Line 6.
Vanilla, 1 teaspoon. See Schedule ZE for reporting use of imitation vanilla flavoring. You may be able to deduct the cost of real vanilla extract in 1991 if you itemize deductions.

Line 7.
Salt, 1/3 teaspoon (optional). If you are a head of household with dependents and were born during a leap year, you must add salt.

Line 8.
Baking powder, 1 ½ teaspoons. Use of baking soda will result in a penalty. See form W-Q.

Line 8a.
Walnuts, 8 oz., chopped. You may be eligible to use pecans or almonds. See Part III of Schedule PE, Itemized Substitutions.

Line 9.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (375 if altitude exceeds 5,500 feet). Be sure that you have turned the oven on before you begin assembling ingredients. In a bowl (2 quart capacity), cream butter and sugar for 3 minutes, or until well blended, whichever occurs first. (Note: If you are using the Nonfarm Cocoa Method [see Line 4], add additional butter and sugar at this point.)

Line 10.
Incorporate eggs, one egg at a time, into creamed mixture. If the eggs are from a farm of which you are the sole owner, you may be eligible for a Fowl Credit. See Form 9871m "For the Birds."

Line 11.
Add vanilla.

Line 12.
In a double boiler, melt chocolate at low heat. If you are using the Nonfarm Cocoa Method, disregard the preceding instruction and stir cocoa into the creamed mixture. Then stir in flour from Line 5a, 5b, or 5c, add salt (optional, but see Line 7 for exception) and baking powder.

Line 13.
Add nuts, which should be chopped, regardless of type (See Line 8a).

Line 14.
Pour batter into 2 (two) greased and floured 8 inch round cake pans or 1 (one) greased and floured 9x13 inch pan, which you should have prepared earlier. Bake in preheated oven (see line 9) for 40 to 50 minutes, whichever is greater. After removing cake pan(s) from oven, cool for 10 minutes (12 for 9x13 pan) and turn cake(s) out onto wire rack. When cake is completely cool, frost it. (To determine time needed for cooling, complete Worksheet on pg. 25.) See Form 873 for details on appropriate frosting's.

Note: If you weigh 20 percent more (or higher) than your ideal weight (see chart on pg. 19), ignore this recipe and complete Schedule F, "Fresh Fruit Desserts."

Now are you ready to bake?

This suits me just fine!

I am always looking for a new bathing suit...one that is flattering to me now that I am considered over the hill. I still have my hour glass figure, just a little more sand!

When I was younger I had to have the skimpiest suit available. The itsy bitsy teeny weeniest one created because I wasn't swimming, I was wading for compliments!

Then as I grew older, the one piece bathing suits not only looked sophisticated, but hid some of the flaws that you just can't seem to get rid of no matter how much you work out.

Now I am at that stage where I wish there was a whole body swim suit! I could purchase a scuba outfit and look as if I just got out of the blue lagoon! Get me a mask, snorkel and some fins and I'd look like I was diving for pearls!

Then I found these beauties! Who ever thought of the tankini was a genius! Although I do feel a little funny swimming in shorts and or a skirt but I guess once you hit that certain age...who gives a shit? I am no longer skinny dipping...I'm fatty dunking!

This suit suits me fine!

And an added bonus...it's on sale!

Last night...

I had a dream that I was stuck in this spiral and couldn't get out....it just kept going around and around!
Then I thought about the staircase that I don't like to use...
Oh, if only I could have slept as peaceful as this!

Last night...

Another Monday Must Have?

I am not sure about this one...
The electric back hair shaver that eliminates painful waxing, and is portable so you can use it any where! It also converts into a regular shaver!
Thankfully this is not a must have for me, well, at least not yet!

The King Gets His Wings!

In case you didn't read my last comment on the previous post...Julian finally got his wings!

January 19, 2008 at 06:55 PM CST
Time of Death ,11:22am ... Never thought I would ever hear these words about my 4 1/2 year old son. But this morning , those words got engraved in my mind and my heart forever. Julian fought until the last painful breath. Again NOTHING peaceful about this process until , until he stopped gasping for air. Julian looked like a fish out of the water, trying so hard to fill those lungs ,but nothing. You could see the normal breathing motions his body made, but nothing got past his throat. Finally he stopped fighting. When he started having a hard time breathing I went to get Ken . He stood on one side of the bed and i was on there with Julian . We talked him thru his transition . We told him it would be ok . We told him we were proud of him . I told him to say Hi to Jesus for me. I told him that Cody and Jacob were waiting for him . I told him that we would be ok . I told him he wouldnt hurt anymore. I told him good night. I told him I loved him . I told him to play and run . The nurse took his shirt off and told us to touch him , that he could feel us and we needed to feel him . I put my hand on his chest. I could feel his heart beat. Then it slowed down . Then I could not feel it anymore. I heard his first heartbeat and felt his last one . I was texting Debra right before , texted her Julian was gone, she called and got in her car and came. I got Mamie, she told Ju bye.And Papy. We got the boys and told them . Sam asked if we were sure he was gone. Then he said it was wierd because he didnt feel like crying . Then he asked to hold him . I needed to clean and dress Ju first . Debra got here, helped me a little, cried a lot... They are not supposed to get attached, how can you not get attached to Ju? I held Julian . Debra gave him a bed bath , as she had been doing for the past few weeks, put lotion all over him , loved and kissed on him . 1 month ago , she didnt even know him , now she is grieving just as we are . That is what Julian is all about . LOVE, unconditional love... He touched Debra, she touched my heart... Ken , Debra, Mamie, Sam , Gma and I held Julian. Maybe others did , I am not sure. Dana and Jessi came.Pastor Kevin and Vicki, Zach and Sam.Diane came by, Pastor Blair and Pat. Vickie and Gerald. Nanny. It is now 6 something pm. Dana and her family are still here with us . I love those guys! Thank you ... Funeral home men came to get him this afternoon. Ken carried him to the van , with his blankie (his Christmas blankie he would share with every one) one of his mimis and one of his dinosaurs. We dont know any details on viewing and funeral yet. We will let you know, just make sure you have your YELLOW SHIRTS HANDY !!!! FLY HIGH MUNCHKIN ... I love you all the way to China, you are the best ,you know that? I love your smell too baby... Your mama, your little mama ...

and the King gets his wings....

Amen!!!

An UPDATE on Julian... from Mimi

January 18, 2008 at 05:43 PM CST

Do you ever open a book to whichever page it takes you ,just to see what happens? To see where it could lead your thoughts? I was shocked when I picked up the D-E book of the Encyclopedia ,opened it to the word Death. I was even more shocked when I read the definition. " End of life" SLAP, right accross my face ,again... It makes it all sound so real ,so terminal , so not what I wanted for my child , so not what I want for my child. OK , well, it is right there in my face, lets wortk at this... End of life. Does that mean Julian will be gone and thats it? THE END !!! Everyone goes to bed , gets up the next day and never talk about him again? ABSOLUTELY NOT !!! Julian is so much more than a cheap movie with the words THE END written all over him... They fail to make a distinction in that definition. They fail to say that , that may just be the atheist's definition of death, not mine... Physical and spiritual death are both determined by a separation of some sort, physical as Julian and all of us will eventually experience is a separation of the body and the soul. Eccl 12:7 "the dust will return to the earth as it was,and the spirit will return to God who gave it." Doesn't that sound perfect? The soul goes on to be with God. Does this sound like the end to you? Now spiritual death is a separation between man and God because of sin... Isa 59:2a "your sins have made a separation between you and your God " Sin is like a shield that keeps God from hearing us . Death is more than just the end of life. For those who believe it is the hope they will see their loved ones again, it is the hope to be whole again after your body has been crippled and disminished by the beast . Death can be a deliverence for those who suffer. But what is it really to us who are left behind? An unfair reality ? A thief robbing you of what you loved most? My baby is fighting with all he has , and I am soooo proud of him for his strength , I have to honor that.He is stubborn and doesnt want to find out that he can be whole again. But if and when he goes, I will swallow my pain for a while so I can rejoice in the fact that with him dying , so died that nasty cancer. Julian's soul will be with God, He promised us. I cant forget that for Julian's tired and skinny body, that for his cancer ravaged brain and spine ,it will be Heaven to be freed ... AMEN !!!
As far as Julian's status, he started having seizures again today, which so far were controlled by meds... goodnight King Juju's fan club.... mimi

King Julian

I originally posted this yesterday, but took it down due to a couple of nasty anonymous comments...And then I thought...why should I let ignorant people get to me?

I have included a picture of King Julian so lets see if they will be so heartless towards a little boy who only has a short time with us until he gets his angel wings.

I have been following this little guy for quite some time and no matter how much money in the world there is, there's nothing that can be done. Think of your own children, grand children...all the children in the world! JuliansWorld
This carepage was built for King Julian (he thinks we should call him like that!!) .Our #3 (out of 4) son was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (aggressive cancerous brain tumor) .The tumor , the size of a golf ball was totally resected on march 9th 2007. He has gone thru 6 weeks of radiations in april/may and after a 4 week break started chemo.
Come by and visit with us, leave a message with your website so we can return the favor...

Monday Must Haves!

Besides Flamingos I also collect these cute little Harmony Kingdom figurines...The other day I received an email from the club notifying me of the new pieces that are being released for January 2008.

Last week I captured my first picture of the fox, and this is one of the new pieces titled:

“Sweet Surrender”

Peter Calvesbert’s 2008 Romance Annual
This year’s Romance Annual portrays a pair of red fox (Vulpes Vulpes). The red fox can be found in most parts of the world and has the widest range of any terrestrial carnivore. In Great Britain, where there are no longer any other native wild canids, they are referred to simply as “the fox”. Master Carver Peter Calvesbert chose this subject for the Romance Annual as these rust colored mammals with bushy tails primarily form monogamous pairs. Peter’s signature mouse is tucked away under the brush of the sleeping one. The interior GB inscription refers to the coincidence that both the UK and US leaders (Gordon Brown and George Bush) share the same initials.
This is a must have!

“Fatal Attraction”

Peter Calvesbert’s 2008 Blue Box
The 2008 Blue Box portrays the gory end that befalls any drone bee ”lucky” enough to mate with the queen. Peter’s drone is reading his sex manual and has discovered the last chapter missing. The queen bee has ripped out the pages so that the drone will not learn the fate in store for him. The lid bears the Latin name for the European honey bee – Apis Mellifera. Peter’s initials with a reversed “c” can be seen on the leaf stalk. Within this signed and numbered limited edition are books that might be of interest to a bee, including “Honey I Shrunk the Kids”, “Pooh the Thief” (Pooh bear is always stealing honey), “Make Royal Jelly” (the special food to produce a queen), and “How to Waggle” (the special dance that tells other bees where to find pollen). The numbers 1 and 30 inscribed in the interior refer to the one in thirty people that are allergic to bee stings.

Needless to say, I was on the phone immediately to get my order in for my

Too Much Time on My Hands!

It seems like everybody reads a lot of books...As for me, I don't read as much as I should. I do most of my reading online rather than picking up a book, and sitting down in a big comfy chair.

The last book I read was Blonde Ambition The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith's Death just because I was nosey, and wanted the see what Rita Cosby had to say...

To get interested in a book, the title must jump out and grab my attention. Here is a list of books that might fit into my future reading:

*The French Chef by Sue Flay
*Tight Situation by Leah Tard
*Unemployed by Anita Job
*Off to Market by Tobias A. Pigg
*I Lived in Detroit by Helen Earth
*Inflammation, Please by Arthur Itis
*Handel's Messiah by Ollie Luyah
*Downpour! by Wayne Dwops
*Cloning by Ima Dubble
*Irish Flooring by Lynn O'Leum
*Holmes Does it Again by Scott Linyard
*Home Alone IV by Eddie Buddyhome
*Neither a Borrower by Nora Lender Bee
*The Scent of a Man by Jim Nasium
*Is O. J. Guilty? by Howard I. Know
*Animal Illnesses by Ann Thrax
*French Overpopulation by Francis Crowded
*Fallen Underwear by Lucy Lastic
*House Construction by Bill Jerome Home
*Yellow River by Iam Ping
*Lewis Carroll by Alison Wonderland
*Leo Tolstoy by Warren Peace
*The L. A. Lakers Breakfast by Kareem O' Wheat
*Why Cars Stop by M. T. Tank

A Little Humor for Hump Day!

I'll have to run a few tests, but my guess is that it's either hot flashes or global warming.

Recent research shows that there are seven kinds of sex.

1. The first kind of sex is called Smurf Sex. This kind of sex happens when you first meet someone and you both have sex until you are blue in the face.

2. The second kind of sex is called Kitchen Sex. This is when you have been with your partner for a short time and you are so horny you will have sex anywhere, even in the kitchen.

3. The third kind of sex is called Bedroom Sex. This is when you have been with your partner for a long time. Your sex has gotten routine, and you usually have sex only in your bedroom.

4. The fourth kind of sex is called Hallway Sex. This is when you have been with your partner for too long. When you pass each other in the hallway, you both say, "Screw you."

5. The fifth kind of sex is called Religious Sex. This means you get nun in the morning, nun in the afternoon, and nun at night.

6. The sixth kind of sex is called Courtroom Sex. This is when you cannot stand your wife any more. She takes you to court and screws you in front of everyone.

7. And last, but not least, the seventh kind of sex is called Social Security Sex. You get a little from time to time, but not enough to live on.

Foxy!

Good thing I like to wash windows! Today I was washing (scrubbing) the slobber off the storm door window, and looked up and thought I saw an orange kitty cat. Oh yeah, I was on the phone too when this all was taking place. You could say I was multi tasking! I focused my eyes and thought...that's not a cat, it's too big! Oh crap, it's a coyote! No, it's too small...then it dawned on me...it's a FOX!

I ran and got my camera, all nervous and excited at the same time trying to focus and shoot the picture with the phone still to my ear! It's not the best shot, but considering how long it took me to capture this Kodak moment, I think it's pretty damn good!

And then here it is high tailing it the hell out of here! Nice butt shot!
FOXY!

Sexy!

I was sitting here today wondering what to blog about...First I was going to blog about the weather last night...boring~It was wet and wild, and I tried to get some good shots of the lightning, but they didn't come out as well as I expected.

Then I was going to blog about Elvis today, the King of Rock and Roll, and his birthday...but figured a lot of people would probably be blogging about him~I was never really an Elvis fan anyway~

Then I was going to blog about more about my life....boring~boring~boring~

Then I thought I would blog about my diet that ended before it started. Who isn't blogging about their New Years resolution diet? Boring~

You could say, I was having bloggers block so I thought I would check out some online stores and see what I could buy...not boring!

I checked out all my favorite flamingo links...
Nothing~

Then I thought, I need a new bathing suit! Not really but you can never have enough as far as I am concerned...

And I came across this!

Description
Be an immediate standout at any party with the original Borat suit! Perfect for the swimmer who wants to show his lighter side. Don some shades and an accent and you are sure to be the highlight of your pool party. High five! Make sexy time in the US and A in this Borat style thong. Don't worry - it's made of 100% spandex so it's one-size-fits-all. Note: not responsible for you becoming immediately SEXY.

It's not for me, but I think Mr. Wonderful needs one! Sexy!

Barbie Get's a Dream Job?

Back in August, East Bluff Barbie celebrated a birthday and blogged about what she didn't get...

While reading today's paper I ran across an article and thought of East Bluff Barbie~

Oh yeah, and Happy belated Birthday to you!

Forget Tupperware; hit a Taser party
By Chris Kahn Associated Press

Published: 1/6/2008 12:46 AM

GILBERT, Ariz. -- Before she lets them shoot her little pink stun gun, Dana Shafman ushers her new friends to the living room sofa for a serious chat about the fears she believes they all share.
"The worst nightmare for me is, while I'm sleeping, someone coming in my home," Shafman says, drawing a few solemn nods from the gathered women.
Shafman, 34, of Phoenix, says she knows how they feel. She says she used to stash knives under her pillow for protection.
Welcome, she says, to the Taser party.
On the coffee table, Shafman spreads out Taser's C2 "personal protector" weapons the company is marketing to the public. It doesn't take long before the women are lined up in the hallway, whooping as they take turns blasting at a metallic target.
"C'mon!" she says. "Give it a shot."
Shafman isn't an employee for Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Taser International. She's an independent entrepreneur who's been selling Tasers the way her mother's generation sold plastic food-storage containers.
As a single woman who lives alone, Shafman says she's the perfect pitchwoman for Taser as it makes a renewed push to sell weapons to families.
Taser doesn't expect its dealers to start imitating Shafman, but spokesman Steve Tuttle says people can learn from her approach.
Shafman, a freelance construction consultant, says she always had a natural interest in self-defense products. She loved the idea of the Taser, which would allow her to stop an attacker from across the room without getting physical.
She tried moonlighting as a door-to-door Taser saleswoman. But years of negative press about Taser made it tough.
"Nobody wants to purchase a product that they think is lethal or going to kill somebody," she said.
A lot of people, especially women, need time to get comfortable with a product like Taser before they'll consider buying one, Shafman says. So the Taser party was born.
Shafman says she's sold about 30 guns per month at $349.99 since her first Taser party Oct. 15. She doesn't get a commission from Taser. Instead, Shafman says she gets a discounted dealer rate for the units and keeps the difference.
Taser has been surging on Wall Street two years after the Securities and Exchange Commission concluded its investigation into the company's safety claims and business practices. Its stock more than doubled in 2007, from a low of $7.44 to a high in 2007 of $19.36 a share.
Company officials say they're now selling Tasers in 43 countries and more than 12,500 police agencies in the U.S. are either using or testing their weapons. With its weapons dominant in law enforcement, Taser is turning its attention back to the civilian market. The weapons are legal in all states except New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Michigan, Wisconsin and Hawaii, and in Washington D.C.
Amnesty International, which has criticized Taser's assertion that its weapons are non-lethal, frowns on the C2 and any attempt to spread the use of stun guns. Officials with the human rights organization say the weapons are frequently used to excess by trained police, and they're likely to be abused by the public as well.
Mona Cadena, Amnesty International's Western Regional director, says there are already reports of domestic violence using Tasers and other energy weapons.
"Of course, we want to stop violence against women like Dana's saying," she says.
"But we also want to ensure that Tasers don't end up causing it, too."
Taser forces its customers to submit to a criminal background check before giving them a code to turn on their weapons.

I won't be surprised when I get an invitation to a Taser Party in the East Bluff.

East Bluff Barbie get's her dream job? Either that or a belated birthday present!
