Besides Flamingos I also collect these cute little Harmony Kingdom figurines...The other day I received an email from the club notifying me of the new pieces that are being released for January 2008.
Last week I captured my first picture of the fox, and this is one of the new pieces titled:
“Sweet Surrender”
Peter Calvesbert’s 2008 Romance Annual
This year’s Romance Annual portrays a pair of red fox (Vulpes Vulpes). The red fox can be found in most parts of the world and has the widest range of any terrestrial carnivore. In Great Britain, where there are no longer any other native wild canids, they are referred to simply as “the fox”. Master Carver Peter Calvesbert chose this subject for the Romance Annual as these rust colored mammals with bushy tails primarily form monogamous pairs. Peter’s signature mouse is tucked away under the brush of the sleeping one. The interior GB inscription refers to the coincidence that both the UK and US leaders (Gordon Brown and George Bush) share the same initials.
This is a must have!
“Fatal Attraction”
Peter Calvesbert’s 2008 Blue Box
The 2008 Blue Box portrays the gory end that befalls any drone bee ”lucky” enough to mate with the queen. Peter’s drone is reading his sex manual and has discovered the last chapter missing. The queen bee has ripped out the pages so that the drone will not learn the fate in store for him. The lid bears the Latin name for the European honey bee – Apis Mellifera. Peter’s initials with a reversed “c” can be seen on the leaf stalk. Within this signed and numbered limited edition are books that might be of interest to a bee, including “Honey I Shrunk the Kids”, “Pooh the Thief” (Pooh bear is always stealing honey), “Make Royal Jelly” (the special food to produce a queen), and “How to Waggle” (the special dance that tells other bees where to find pollen). The numbers 1 and 30 inscribed in the interior refer to the one in thirty people that are allergic to bee stings.

Needless to say, I was on the phone immediately to get my order in for my
Monday Must Haves!
Thank you Ann! at Fin Alley!
