Let's hope it doesn't rain

Yeah! I got a call this morning saying the shingles were on their way, and roofer man and his crew would be out to do a partial tear off so when the bundles arrived they could precisely stack them on the roof.

It was a little noisy this morning as they shoveled and scraped the old shingles off, and then pounded in the nails to fasten the new felt to the peak of the roof. Gee, I sound like I know what I am talking about!

Then about two hours later the flat bed truck with the big boom arrived to raise the bundles up to the roof...

Looks like the new shingles are holding down the tarps!

They worked for a couple of hours, cleaned up the driveway, and said they would be back tomorrow to start putting the new roof on...
I haven't seen the weather forecast, but let's hope it doesn't rain!

Happy weekend.

becs...Not yet, they have been working every day and, only have half of the roof done. It's a biggy!

rick...I did! Sorry I haven't gotten back to you with feedback. I'll have becs do it so she can let you really know how excited Lexi was.

i commented on his blog and added the picture and a comment on mine so that maybe ppl will check his blog out!

It is a big roof and they certainly get their routine down when they are nailing shingles, but that noise is annoying... when we had them out in June we spent a lot of time AWAY from home.

becs...knock knock...bang bang, and with the dogs barking constantly, well...it's been less than peaceful around here! Only a few more days, and they should be done! Can't wait until they start on the detached garage!

Julie...I have been so busy lately I haven't had time to blog. Actually today I sat down and was going to blog, but it sounded so corny (imagine that) I decided not to post it. Maybe I will anyway just to let people know I am still alive and kicking!

Lexie said...

Whew... had me worried too... I thought maybe you got lost amid the shingles. Even a corny post is better than leaving us hanging!
