The heat is on...

Welcome October! Finally you're here! It's about time because I was getting really sick of sweating my ass off each and every day! Now, will you please make the leaves on the trees start turning pretty colors?

I woke up this morning to a nice brisk 46 degrees...oh what a relief it is! There's something about the smell of the fresh air, and seeing your breath besides having your head stuck in the freezer. It's finally here...Autumn, and now I don't have to worry about the pumpkins we bought last weekend cooking outside in the sweltering heat!

I hear this noise this morning, and I can't figure out what it is...It sounds like there's a plane hoovering over the house, or maybe like someone is outside with some lawn equipment but who in the hell would be out at 6:30 in the morning doing yard work? Or is it the wind against the windows? I am listening closely, trying to figure where the obnoxious noise is coming from, and then it dawns on me...Mr. Wonderful turned on the heat this morning! C'mon, it's not that cold! I didn't ask but I would bet he wore his long johns to work today!

Now that it's cooled off a bit, it's time to put away the short skirts and tee shirts and pull out the long sleeve shirts, sweaters, and long skirts. My flip flops will go into hibernation for the winter, and my shoes and socks that cover my tooties will see daylight!

I can take long hot baths to take the chill off my bones, and drink hot chocolate with a shot of peppermint schnapps, or maybe some hot spiked apple cider and let's not forget about a tall cup of Irish Cream coffee! Yum!

I can finally find out if my oven works! I've been dying to bake something, but refused to heat up the house anymore than it already was!

I can make soup, stew, and chili...

I can open up the windows and let some fresh air in! Oh wait, I forgot...the heat is on~
