Today, I decided to pick one off the stem and break it open to see what's inside. Yep, there's seeds in there just like a pepper is supposed to have. And yep, it looks just like the inside of a pepper! So, what do I do, being curious? I gotta see if it taste's just like a pepper.
OMG! It's a pepper alright! A hot pepper! Fuggin' hottest pepper I have ever had in my mouth! Wait a minute, I have NEVER had a hot pepper in my mouth! At least not as hot as this one!
So, I'm out in front, spitting out this pepper, or at least trying to...seeds and all, my mouth is on fire, my lips are burning, and I'm trying to wipe my mouth and lips with my t-shirt! I can't get into the house fast enough and get to the fridge and think...what is they say takes the burn away. I know they say milk, I don't have any...well, I have soy milk! Take a swig of that...nope, that's not gonna work...My eyes are tearing, my nose running like Niagara Falls, I don't know what to do first! Blow my nose or wipe my eyes! Oh no...don't wipe your eyes with the pepper oil on your fingers! Too late...oh crap! Get the water on my eyes fast...then to the freezer to look for something cold...Ahhh french fries! So, here I sit, sucking on a frozen tater...Puttin' out the fire in my mouth!
One good thing from this experience...it cured my hangover!
Now WTF are these? Purple Peppers? I am not tasting them!

Not sure the exact variety you have here (purple ones) as there are several. Some are noted as ornamental, but safe for consumption. But, I would say they're definitely hot, and will probably ripen to red.
The whole plant is purple...purple leaves, purple little thingies on it and NO way am I tasting them! I leave them to be "ornamental" :)I learned my lesson the hard way...my lips still burn just thinking about them! Ouch!
